2009 Strong Kids Campaign
About the campaign
The YMCA has a long history of meeting community needs. Today, we focus on giving all children and youth an opportunity to connect and belong, make healthy choices and reach their potential.
At YMCA of Windsor and Essex County, swimming lessons, a week at camp, school support and many other programs are available to all children and youth, even those in families facing financial difficulties. In fact, one in every two of the children and youth we serve receives financial assistance, made possible thanks to the many donors to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
When kids participate in YMCA experience they have the opportunity to develop self-confidence, feel connected and learn the skills necessary to become the leaders of today and tomorrow. In turn, they find out what it takes to build strong families and strong communities.
In 2009, our goal is to raise $50 000 to help enrich the lives of more than 500 children and youth in our community this year. All money raised goes directly to children and youth in Windsor and Essex County.
